Majority 54: Restoring the right to vote in Florida with the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition
Posted on Friday, May 18th, 2018 at 11:55 am
A movement has been underway in Florida to help convicted, nonviolent felons who have served their time restore some of their constitutional rights. In particular, the right to vote. Floridians will vote in November to decide whether they want their state to continue to be one of only three that strips felons of the right to vote, permanently.
Jason Kander is the former Secretary of State for Missouri and the co-founder of Let America Vote. In this episode of Majority 54, he speaks with Desmond Meade, founder of the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition — and a convicted felon himself.
