Government might get new rules regarding your cell phone location data

The United States Supreme Court has heard oral arguments in Carpenter v. United States, the case of whether it’s proper for law enforcement officials to use cellular location data. That’s oversimplified, but there are major ramifications here as more and more of our data ends up in the cloud, controlled by third-party companies. And early signs point to … something happening.
